I had enough Bible school and vacation Bible school to choke a horse.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, and all the revivals and all the stuff. And he said, You got a foundation, but we're dealing with a generation that don't have the foundation. That's why they have to have, once they do come to the Lord, we have to work with that and lay that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Makes a lot of sense.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely. Well, if you if you look at when Jesus was on the earth, he he was a rabbi, okay? And follow me was not an uncommon thing. What happened was you went to Beth Safer, I believe, first as a Jewish kid. And in that you memorized the first five books of the Bible, okay? The Torah. You memorized them. Okay? Because nobody wrote, you memorized them. About four percent graduated to the next stage, and they memorized the rest of the Old Testament.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And then a rabbi would pick one of those and say, Follow me. And what discipleship was, you followed them. I mean, you lived with them and that type of thing. So discipleship was to be with, to become like, to do. So when Jesus says, go out into the world and make disciples, what he's saying is, I want you to be with me, to become like me, to do what I do, which is represent the kingdom here on earth. And what I want you to do while you're doing that is find other people who want to follow me, be with me, to become like me. So that's what discipleship is all about, is is training to people to become how how are we with Jesus now? We're with him in prayer, we're with him in meditation, we're with him by the word. We we read the gospel, we read Matthew 5 through 8, and he says, this is the way we're supposed to live. And if you live this way, guess what happens? When the winds come and the winds waves blow, you're gonna stand. And if you choose not, and you can choose not to live the way I want you to live, the winds are coming and and you're gonna crash. And we we and I'm not saying we we turn that into heaven and hell sometimes, but I think it's this life. Sometimes I I believe that God didn't save me from hell as much the as the hell my life would be without him.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I believe that that I believe that hell can start here on earth.

SPEAKER_01

I truly believe that so can heaven. Yeah, I truly believe.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I believe that with all of my heart. I do too.

SPEAKER_01

I would agree with you.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm a little hard on some things. If if you get up every day, first thing I don't believe the devil doesn't make anything. He can only work with what's available, he perverts what's already been made. He's not a creator. Yeah. He can't make you have lust, he can only work with lust if it's there. He can't make you greedy, only work with available greed. He can only work with the things that are available in people's lives. And I think we we miss that sometimes. And the Bible says that if we resist him, he'll run. And uh, I was sharing with a church one time, I was evangelizing at a church, and I listened to their testimonies before church back when you used to have testimonies, and they was sharing, Lord God, you know, this is what and I said, I just got a vision of a about an eight-foot devil chained up in a corner that'd like to leave this church if y'all let him. I said, you know, I mean, you're c because he said you're claiming a lot of stuff on him that you're doing uh the sorry way you're living your life. I mean, we don't need to pray over your finances, you need to stop spending money you don't have. Right. Right okay. And when it comes to your health, you got to do something for your health. I understand why I'm 250 pounds. And I like to have a pizza and I enjoy a cookie. That's why I said I told somebody, you know, I'm not I'm a little easy on drug addicts, okay? Because uh I have a hard enough time not eating Oreos. Yeah. So a little Oxycotton, I'd be in a mess. All right. I understand that. And uh so I mean there's things out there in people's lives that we we think is the devil, but I don't believe the devil's as involved in people's lives. Now, some people I believe when I see people, I can see the devil in them. There's some people I see evil. Gosh, it just evil, sorry, nasty things, I see it in them. Yeah. And uh, and then some people I just see don't understand. Okay. So I'll come back to the you know, when in uh the the true story of the younger truly that to follow Jesus, Jesus told him what he had to do. He said, This is what you gotta do. Sell all you have, give it to the poor, come follow me. And the guy just walked off. And he didn't tell the disciples to go catch him.
