But she opened up that service and and I know she wasn't hitting no notes or keys on that thing. She'd just pound that piano and sing and B would get up there and preach and she hated cigarettes. She had this terrible thing about cigarettes. She'd bring people up there, if it wanted to be delivered from smoking, she'd line them up and grab them by the mouth and pray. And it was so I mean she was just uh it was these kind of things. I just fascinated when you look back, which now people would fall out and have a heart attack. Yes. You know, I mean, but they were just forerunners, you know, of those type of things. There was a late it was a lady that I knew earlier called Hazel Click was her name, forerunner of the Jesus movement back in in McDowell County and over away. And she would ride around over in the McDowell County stuff and had a C B with a PA speaker up on top of her car. And she would preach, driving through town and stop some places, maybe in the parking lot or on the hillside, and just preach and talk about Jesus with that PA speaker up on top of her car. I mean, I think about those people.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00You know, and and I think there's a foundation that you didn't even know about. That's really the I think about that stuff, man. It's cool.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I'll have to look into that. That's how Amy Simple McPherson started, you know, driving around and reaching out of the back of her car.
SPEAKER_00She was fascinating.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00You know, had a lot of personal battles, but just was fascinating. Uh I've shared this before. I think that the word is true, uh, even if you don't believe it. And I think people miss that. That it's true no matter what. That the Bible is a I look at the Bible as a handbook too for my life. And if I'm having a situation, there's an answer in there for me that I can that I can follow and do those things. I don't know. I enjoy it. Known Barry a long time. I got confidence in him.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00You know, and uh I just really do. I think about I've traveled all over the world preaching this gospel, and it's been fun. It really has been a blessing for me. You know, I've been broke some, they turned my water off three times in my home one year because I couldn't pay the bill. Broke out preaching every night, five and seven dollars a night. My little kids tagging along, my wife. It made us strong though. Yes. They still tell stories about that because you didn't know they were memories, and I'm sure your kids, so things that they'll share about their mom.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And uh they'll think about there's a there's a young lady I know here close to us. She had a tough life growing up. She didn't wasn't really a little bit rebellious, like like possibly you were. She was a little rebellious, and her mom was just a Jesus woman. She was just a godly woman, okay? But uh, and she uh she her daughters had troubles with her daughter. Her daughter's pretty tough. But now her daughter pa her mom passed away and her daughters passed her in that church. And I got to thinking how heaven must rejoice.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Thinking about that. You think back on those things. So when we think about people that we admire, we've covered that.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00We talk about battles and storms. What are some things you think are ahead of us here preaching the gospel? What do you feel like is going to happen? Where are we moving?
SPEAKER_01Um, I think that with everything going on and the darker that things get, the more the the brighter that the light shines. Okay. You know, and I think that we're headed into I mean, like you were talking about history. Everything just r regenerates, it you know, cycles back around. You mentioned the Jesus movement. You know, I think that what was going on then, that was when the uh war um back in the 70s and they had uh kids being shot on college campuses and everything back then, and God got a hold of a younger generation at that time. And um uh what was his name? The uh I know his name really good, but I'm just can't think of it. But he got saved on an acid trip, the leader of the Jesus Revolution. They made the movie Lonnie Frisbee. Oh, yeah, I remember. Okay, he got saved on an acid trip, you know. And and just like some of the other generals that really paved the way, it's like the people that God are God is getting ready to raise up at this time is gonna be people that most people would have just, you know, not believed in, said, you know, their past disqualifies them, you know, issues, things they got going on in their life. But those are the people that have a heart for people.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And they're not churched. Right. You know, when you're not churched, you have more of an ability to uh believe God for things.
SPEAKER_00But see, all right, let's talk about that. Because I believe you have that. I don't think I do. All right. I'm not I fall short. Okay? I'm just telling you. Where I was churched, now there's things I still brag on myself. I think I'm all right about, but there's some things here that you have such a strength about, okay? Because you can you you know, all right? You know, I think, but you know. That makes sense. I mean and I think that gives you that strength that you can pull from that, and you know God can do the impossible in these areas. Those are the areas of my life that God has done miracles in, but I mean I think of those things in your life that you know some things that I only think and believe.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And I think that's cool.
SPEAKER_01Yes, exactly. When you have set where somebody's set, like Ezekiel, you know, um I think that's with everything going on and everything right now, and if you just look at the past and like when the Jesus Revolution started and all those things, you know, it's a lot the same things that's going on now. I mean, people were just doing what they wanted, you know, the just staying out of it. And I mean, it was just wild, especially with the younger generation. Um but you know, you can't there's joy in sin for a season. Right. And with everything going on, like, yeah, there's joy in these things for a season, but then comes torment. And when the torment sets in, that is what's gonna push everybody to Jesus. And I believe that we're heading into the biggest revival that we've ever saw.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I think it'll be solid.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I think there's a solid movement. Thinking about there there used to be a great production that they'd done called Jesus Christ Superstar. It was a big production. Okay, and a big play and all this stuff. The guy that played Jesus Christ in that was a drugie, sung with some big uh group. Anyway, Jeff Finholt was his name. Okay, long-haired fella, big long haired anyway. He just but Jeff Finholt was in it. He played Jesus Christ. And while he was high on drugs, he played in this production. He came to our auditorium in War, West Virginia years ago, and he was got saved and was leading young people to the Lord. And he came and preached at my church and come over there and preached. And I've got the video of him singing and stuff like that. Well, when I first heard him talking about not being accepting, I first heard him in Princeton at the old theater up there. Uh a friend of mine had him up there, and I said, I'm gonna go see this ugly thing, old long hair. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know, I mean, I I ain't got much punking for him. I look at him. First thing he needs to get a haircut, you know. So I went up there and listened to him, heard him share his testimony, heard him go through things, and man, it just melted my heart. And I I found me a place up the altar and repented again. I said, Lord, forgive me for what then I invited him to come over and sing for us, and he came to come to our house and ate with my family after church and sit with us, and and uh, but it I th he's dead now. He passed away, and he's I think his son might be singing, but I mean you know, that movement that you know was in there that I think about them. And like you said, I think that solid movement.
