And he stood there, looked at her a minute, and he reached over and told me, he said, This one's for you. So anyway, I began explaining to her from my heart. I said, uh, I put my fist up on her. And I said, see that big old place right there. I said, they're a place about that big that nothing else is going to feel. And maybe it's there and maybe it's not. But I really believe it's there or you wouldn't be here. All of a sudden she began to cry. And uh, you know, that was where it was, you know, and and there's just a there's a point. And you know, and he ministered to a lot of people, okay? We were both little country bunkins in the place. There we are in London. We went and seen Big Ben. We thought ain't that big a clock in our we'd seen something bigger than it's. You know, we didn't think it was all that big. But uh, I just think there's such a move, man. I just see it. And we talk about people on the street. There's people out there that need help, that need to hear about Christ, that need that revelation knowledge, that need somebody to pray for them. Just need somebody to pray for them. You know? We used to do a program here called Breaking the Bread.

SPEAKER_01

I remember that.

SPEAKER_00

We'd done it, and my dad came on, and Charlie Absher. And I used to come on my dad, and we prayed every night for people all over the country. They called from New York, Atlanta. People called in for prayer. And we would pray for them one at a time. Just one request at a time. And miracles after miracle after miracle we seen. Uh, just because some people needed somebody to pray for them.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

You know, I just think it's important.

SPEAKER_01

It is, and your um station has been a blessing to me for many years. When I was, you know, on drugs and in high school, but when I would be flipping through the TV and it would come on, you know, a program, I I would feel convicted to change it. I had to sit there and watch it. So it's like even then God was working on me, you know. And then um before I could get back to Pastor Barry's church um at Raven Assembly, I clicked on it and he was preaching on your I mean it had him on uh I think it w was video and him at church. And because when I did go to church when I was young, all I heard it was a God that you ran from when you made mistakes and not a God that you ran to. Right. And I would always think, well, you know, there's if if God really had something for me, I wouldn't have made these mistakes. You know, I wouldn't have done these things starting at such a young age and made all these mistakes. But I heard Pastor Barry and um when he was on on your show and he was preaching and he said that the enemy doesn't wait until you grow up. You know, he sees the gift and the purpose of God in you when you're born, and he starts even then, and that's why you've been through the things that you've been through. And sometimes you can see how far somebody is gonna go by how far they've been pushed down.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And when he said that and it was on your TV uh station, then it really helped me. So your um TV station has really impacted me, even though you didn't know it.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know that we we always had that hope, you know, but because I believe there's so many people, uh we've run into a lot of people that are never going to church. Okay, they really are not. Uh I I you know, I've had people that have wrote me letters and sent an offering to me and said, Brother Dash, I'm not a Christian, but I pray for you every day. I mean, I thought, isn't that powerful? I'm praying for you every day, but I'm not a Christian. And I I I believe I'm a believer there'll be people in heaven that didn't know they were going.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

They really had no idea. And I believe some people are gonna wake up in hell didn't know they were going. But I believe there's people that are going to heaven that had no idea. And uh I've been privileged to work with a lot of old hippies, you know, that talk about the good man upstairs. They don't even really understand, but it's fascinating to me to listen to him, you know, and I'm thinking, gee, that's really cool. You know, I think about people. I'm I I'm a little overly lenient. My wife says I make excuses for Charles Manson. I just really am very lenient on people because I think you gotta take your foot off people's throat sometimes and let them get a breath.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, you can't be so hard. Yes. I mean, that doesn't mean I believe you can get by with everything. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying sometimes um you gotta be merciful. What do you think?

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Just you know, like I said, that it's God not only sees what we do, but he sees why we do it. You know, and people aren't just mean to be mean or they don't just get on drugs to get on drugs, you know. It's usually a slow fade into it. And when somebody gets locked up, and you know, you see people repeatedly they get locked up, they go to rehab over and over and over again. They don't get out of there typically, very rarely does somebody go and get locked up and get out and think they're going back. Right. They get out thinking, I'm gonna do good, I'm gonna get my life in order, I'm gonna, you know. Right. But it's such a hard process. Just like with me when I got out of the detention center, you know, I had nowhere to go, owed $3,500 in fines, no driver's license, no vehicle, which is also how people end up homeless, you know. If you don't have a vehicle, you can't get to work, you know, you can't get a job if you don't have somebody to take you. And so, like when I got out of the detention center in that situation, then I knew this pastor that would come in there and preach to us, he said, you cannot allow yourself to be comfortable. And he said, if you get comfortable, you'll start going backwards. You have to keep fighting. You have to keep you have to get up every day, put your tennis shoes on, and get out there and hit it. And so that's what I did, and you know, I had to uh ride a social service van for two years to they would come pick me up, they would take my daughter to daycare, they would take me to my uh counseling classes, then they would come back, get me from counseling, we'd go pick her up from that daycare, then we'd take her to another daycare, they drop me off at Big Daddy's, right? And then I would have to get a ride home from somebody at Big Daddy's that didn't want to give me a ride, let me know they didn't want to give me a ride, but I had to suck it up because I needed the ride. Right. You know, and so that's what happens to a lot of people that you know they want to do good, but they don't know how to do good. And it's so hard to come out of that situation, and then they'll just slowly get comfortable and just start fading back into the same patterns and the same thing.

SPEAKER_00

And and you know, I don't know how you can help. I'm just telling you, sometimes when you look from the outside, you feel helpless because you don't know how you can help, okay? Don't know how to help, you know, I don't know how to help people. Now, if you knew there was people out there, like if you were the situation you were in, okay, if you would have known you had some kind of support system that you could have said, hey, I'm I'm working at Big Daddy's, I need to ride home at five o'clock. Okay, and then somebody in a support system in our church would have said, Hey, we'll be there to pick you up.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay? And uh we'll be there to do something. And I think and because I think sometimes people don't know people need help too.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. And then we all have a certain amount of pride, that's what makes us brush our hair as a have a certain amount of pride. And then we I think does that make any sense?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And we don't really want to keep asking for help.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Even though we know we need help.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

You know.

SPEAKER_01

And that was the time that God really used Christian people.
